She Took A Gamble

2005 (15yo) 15.1h bay American Standardbred gelding. Non-gaited. Never raced. Not papered.

Check out this video for w/t/c, flag flying, slide stop (in its very early stages), roping, ground tying and more!

"Gamble" is looking for his own person. He doesn't love the lesson horse life any more and is too good of a horse to sit around in the pasture. Super easy keeper, stays fat on air. Stands for farrier, ties, bathes, and loads.

Gamble gets his confidence from his rider. If you think he can cross a river of molten lava, he will believe it too (and try). He has taught lessons for strong beginners and did great for them. Recently he just hasn't been as thrilled about toting different riders around in circles and has gotten to be sour. Put him to work and he is happy. Put him on trail and he is even happier. Has been ridden at Hill Forest, on local private trails, and at Leatherwood Mountain Resort. Crosses rivers, streams, roads, and bridges. Traffic safe. Goes out alone but does better with others.

Wears front shoes in the dry season (because ridden more and hard ground). UTD on shots and coggins. Will be introducing him to cows within the next week (hopefully). Has been jumped over 18" verticals, cross rails, and even bigger logs. Looks fancy in a dressage saddle. Slow, western jog or forward, english trot. Just needs fine tuning for whatever direction you'd like to go. Speaking of which, he is way more WOAH than GO, but will "open up".

Worth his weight in gold, he has carried around my 3 year old without putting a foot out of place. While he may not be the most conformationally pretty thing you'll ever see, he has a heart of gold and a mighty brain, and has never been unsound a day in his life. He requires a strong handler/rider as he will take advantage of a timid rider. He will be perfect for anyone with confidence. Confident beginners welcome.
