BUILDING THE FOUNDATION
A track begins with the route itself. For many properties, the simplest place to start is along the outer perimeter of an existing paddock or pasture, using the current boundary as one side of the track and adding an interior fence line to create the corridor. From there, the route can be shaped around the land, existing structures, access points, and the way the horses will move through the property.
Width, curves, gates, and other existing features all influence how that basic track takes shape. Once the route is established, the system can begin to evolve with enrichment, infrastructure, and more thoughtful design.
